PROFESSIONALS TRUST US – FOR A LIFETIME
The knife is the extension of the chef's arm. With the Premier Plus series, your knife works practically by itself. This gives you time not only to concentrate on your craft, but also to give your creativity free rein to create exciting dishes. This is exactly what trained professional chefs and our top chefs appreciate about the F. DICK brand - quality that will accompany you for a lifetime.

FORGED BALANCE
All Premier Plus knives are forged and perfectly balanced. Already during the development of the knives, we placed special emphasis on optimising the weight distribution between the blade and the handle so that the knife feels light and comfortable in your hand. Imagine your handle is too heavy or your blade too heavy. Your knife would always tend towards the heavy side and you would have to fight against the weight when cutting. This will certainly not happen with Premier Plus knives.

SHARP
The blade is made of the high quality X50CrMoV15 steel alloy. Each component of this steel has its own impressive features. Thanks to the high carbon content, the edge retains its sharpness for a particularly long time, the chromium content reduces wear and the molybdenum makes your knife particularly corrosion-resistant. We have also decided to polish the cutting edge to give the knives a special sharpness. Premier Plus knives are uncompromising in their design when it comes to sharpness. The food is cut exactly and not broken or squashed. This way, you work with precise, clean cuts, allowing the variety of flavours in the dish to come to the fore.

ERGONOMIC HANDLE
The Premier Plus knives support you in your kitchen adventures. Our special handle concept also speaks for itself: The handle and blade are joined together without gaps, making them particularly hygienic and easy to maintain. The handle feels comfortable and adapts to your hand thanks to its ergonomic design. This is important to prevent your hand from tiring quickly when you use the knife for a long time.

KNIFE CARE
All F. DICK knives deserve special care and attention when it comes to maintenance. Proper knife care is crucial. Knives that are forged or have a wooden handle should never be cleaned in the dishwasher. Knives with plastic handles are completely dishwasher safe; however cleaning in a dishwasher is much more aggressive than washing by hand.

The use of highly concentrated detergents, leaving the knives in hot steam for a long time and also the presence of certain food residues can lead to pitting on the blades or even corrosion. We recommend clean the knife by hand with a soft cloth and a mild alkaline detergent. Wipe your knife after cleaning to ensure that tit is thoroughly dry – this will prevent any pitting on the blade. You can occasionally maintain knives with wooden handles with food-safe oils (e.g. olive oil). The oil makes the handle nice and smooth and prevents shrinkage and cracks.

PROFESSIONAL KNIFE STORAGE
For your safety and to protect the cutting edges of the blades, we recommend that you store the knives in a suitable knife block or on a magnetic rail. When buying a knife block, make sure you buy one with enough space and horizontal slots to protect the knife blades. We recommend our own blade guard for storage in a drawer - Edge Guard. or alternatively, dimensionally accurate compartments built into the drawer.

HOW DO KNIVES STAY SHARP FOR A LONG TIME?
Knives stay sharp for a long time if they are only used for their intended purpose. The knives should only be used for cutting and not chopping. Bones or the like should therefore only be cut with a cleaver.

WOODEN OR PLASTIC CUTTING BASES
Hard surfaces such as stone (e.g. marble) or glass should not be used as a base, as they quickly blunt the knives.

People Also Ask:

Q: What is the F. Dick Premier Plus Series Non-Serrated Carving Knife best used for?

A: The F. Dick Premier Plus Series Non-Serrated Carving Knife is designed for producing clean, precise slices of cooked meats, roasts, poultry, ham, and large proteins with minimal tearing or shredding. Its long, narrow blade geometry allows the knife to glide smoothly through meat while preserving presentation quality and moisture retention. In practical kitchen environments, this matters because uneven slicing can negatively impact portion control, visual consistency, and customer perception. The Premier Plus Series is positioned for professional culinary environments where edge retention, ergonomic handling, and cutting precision are essential during repetitive daily prep and service. The non-serrated edge also provides greater control for thin carving applications compared with serrated alternatives that can tear delicate surfaces.

Q: Who should use the F. Dick Premier Plus Series Carving Knife?

A: This carving knife is ideal for professional chefs, butchers, caterers, culinary instructors, deli operators, and serious home cooks who regularly portion or present cooked proteins. In high-volume kitchens and foodservice environments, carving knives are essential for maintaining clean presentation standards while maximizing yield. The Premier Plus Series supports this with a forged construction and balanced handling profile that reduces fatigue during extended use. For culinary professionals focused on precision plating, buffet carving stations, or premium meat presentation, this knife delivers the control and consistency expected from German professional cutlery.

Q: What makes the Premier Plus Series different from entry-level carving knives?

A: The Premier Plus Series combines forged blade construction, professional balance, ergonomic handling, and long-term durability that typically exceed entry-level stamped carving knives. Beyond the technical features, what matters most is how this performs in a working kitchen. A forged carving knife generally provides improved weight distribution, better structural rigidity, and enhanced cutting stability during long slicing motions. For operators who carve proteins daily, the difference shows up in smoother workflow, more accurate portioning, and reduced strain during repetitive prep.

Q: How sharp is the F. Dick Premier Plus Series Non-Serrated Carving Knife?

A: The knife is engineered for razor-sharp slicing performance designed to produce clean cuts through cooked meats without crushing or tearing the product. F. Dick professional knives are widely recognized for edge geometry that prioritizes cutting efficiency and controllable sharpness in demanding culinary environments. The non-serrated edge allows users to execute long, uninterrupted slicing strokes that preserve texture and appearance. This is especially important for roast beef, turkey, brisket, ham, and other proteins where presentation quality directly impacts perceived freshness and value.

Q: What results should chefs expect when using this carving knife?

A: Users should expect smoother slices, more consistent portions, cleaner presentation, and improved control during carving applications. In practical terms, this means less shredding of meat fibres, fewer uneven cuts, and reduced product waste during service. For restaurants, catering operations, and retail foodservice counters, these advantages contribute to both visual quality and operational consistency. Combined with proper sharpening maintenance, the knife is designed to maintain dependable cutting performance under regular professional use.

Q: Is the F. Dick Premier Plus Carving Knife suitable for high-volume kitchens?

A: Yes. The Premier Plus Series is specifically designed for demanding professional kitchen environments where knives are used continuously throughout service and preparation. The forged construction, ergonomic handle design, and balanced feel help reduce fatigue during repetitive carving tasks. This becomes especially important in banquet kitchens, buffet stations, hotel operations, and catering environments where large quantities of protein must be sliced efficiently and consistently. From a business perspective, reliable cutting performance contributes to faster service flow and more consistent food presentation.

Q: Can this carving knife handle large roasts and dense proteins?

A: Yes. The long carving blade is intended for larger cuts of meat including roast beef, brisket, turkey breast, pork loin, and ham. The extended blade length helps maintain full slicing strokes across wider proteins without excessive sawing motion. This allows cleaner cuts and minimizes damage to the meat surface. For chefs focused on premium presentation, this style of carving knife is preferred over shorter utility knives that can create uneven slices or ragged edges.

Q: Is the F. Dick Premier Plus Series Carving Knife comfortable for extended use?

A: Yes. The Premier Plus Series is designed with ergonomic handling and professional balance to support long prep and service sessions. Professional users often spend hours portioning proteins during catering prep, banquet production, or deli service. A properly balanced carving knife helps reduce wrist strain and improves overall control during repetitive slicing motions. That’s where the Premier Plus Series becomes a practical advantage for culinary professionals who prioritize comfort alongside cutting precision.

Q: Is this a good carving knife for catering and buffet carving stations?

A: Yes. This knife is particularly well suited for buffet service, carving stations, banquet operations, and front-of-house carving applications. Its long, clean slicing capability helps chefs produce visually appealing portions while maintaining speed and consistency during live service. The professional appearance and refined handling also support elevated presentation standards in hospitality environments. For operations serving premium proteins in customer-facing settings, carving performance directly influences guest perception.

Q: Is the non-serrated edge better than a serrated carving knife?

A: For most professional carving applications, a non-serrated edge provides cleaner and more precise slicing performance. Serrated knives can be useful for crust-heavy or brittle surfaces, but they often tear softer proteins and create less refined presentation results. A straight-edge carving knife allows smooth slicing motions that preserve texture and improve portion appearance. This is why many chefs prefer non-serrated carving knives for roast meats, poultry, and premium carving service.

Q: How durable is the F. Dick Premier Plus Series Carving Knife?

A: The Premier Plus Series is built for long-term professional use with durable forged construction intended to withstand demanding kitchen environments. Professional kitchens require knives that maintain structural integrity, edge performance, and handling consistency over time. F. Dick’s reputation within professional culinary and butcher industries is built around that long-term reliability. When maintained correctly with proper honing and sharpening practices, this knife is designed to deliver years of dependable service.

Q: Is the F. Dick Premier Plus Carving Knife easy to maintain?

A: Yes. The knife is designed for practical professional maintenance using standard honing steels and sharpening systems. One advantage of professional straight-edge carving knives is that they are generally easier to restore and maintain compared with serrated blades. Regular honing helps preserve edge alignment between sharpenings and supports more consistent cutting performance. Combined with proper storage and cleaning practices, maintenance requirements remain straightforward for both professional and advanced home users.

Q: What sharpening tools work best with this carving knife?

A: Professional honing steels and quality sharpening systems designed for forged chef knives are recommended for maintaining this carving knife. F. Dick is recognized not only for knives, but also for its broader sharpening ecosystem that supports professional edge maintenance. This allows kitchens and butcher operations to maintain consistent cutting performance across their knife inventory. Using proper sharpening angles and regular honing intervals will help maximize both edge retention and knife lifespan.

Depending on the operational setup, many professional users pair carving knives with knife rolls, magnetic storage systems, sharpening steels, or protective blade guards for safe transport and storage. Food Supplies curates professional culinary tools designed to integrate into complete kitchen workflows rather than isolated purchases.

These features help maintain presentation standards while supporting efficient workflow during peak periods. When consistency matters across every plate, dependable cutting tools become part of the operational advantage.

Q: Can this carving knife improve portion consistency?

A: Yes. The long carving blade helps operators produce more uniform slices for buffet lines, plated events, and carving stations.
