Cleaning & Maintenance

> The base board can withstand all common detergents.
> The base board, including steel legs | rubber feet | click system, can be cleaned in a dishwasher or under the tap. The base board can also withstand scalding with boiling water.
> The base board will become scratched if it is used as a carving board for hot roasts and other foods. Depending on the foods for which it is used, the area of the base board used for cutting may become discoloured through time.
> The base board will expand when subjected to heat, for example in a dishwasher. It will, however, retract to its original size when cooled. Note that the base board and cutting sheets will only fit together properly if they are at the same temperature.
> Never place hot pots or pans directly on the base board.

FAQ & Technical

FAQ & Technical

People Also Ask:

Q: What does the 670 have that the 270 does not?

A: A juice groove built into the base itself. On the 270 the groove comes from the Series 470 carving accessory, so if a customer wants a groove without buying an accessory, this is the line.

Q: So is the 670 a downgrade?

A: Not in materials. The manufacturer states it is made from the same high-quality materials as the 270. What it does not do is accept the 470 carving and chopping accessories, and it ships with three sheets rather than six.

Q: Which customers should be quoted the 670?

A: Those buying a board rather than a system: smaller kitchens, food businesses, retail and gifting. Anyone who will want to extend with accessories should be on the 270 from the start.

Q: Which two sizes are available?

A: 24 x 34 and 30 x 50. The smaller suits a counter or a secondary board for one ingredient; the larger works as a genuine prep surface.

Q: Which three sheets come with it?

A: Green, red and black, which are vegetables, raw meat and serving. That covers the separation that matters most, and it leaves poultry, seafood, dairy and allergens to be added.

Q: What is the difference between the white and black base?

A: Finish only. Same materials, same juice groove, same sheets. Black suits anywhere the board is seen by the customer; white is the usual back-of-house choice.

Q: Does the base colour carry a food meaning?

A: No, and it is worth being clear with customers. Black on a SHEET means serving. Black on a BASE is a finish. The sheet carries the code, never the base.

Q: What are the feet?

A: Rubber on the 670. The 270 uses solid stainless steel and rubber. Either way they are food safe and the point of them is that the board does not travel under the knife.

Q: Is there anything to warn a customer about on washing?

A: One thing, and it generates support calls otherwise. The base expands with heat and returns to size as it cools, so a hot base and a cold sheet will not seat together properly. Let both reach the same temperature before refitting.

Q: What is the follow-on sale?

A: Sheets, in the four colours not included. A 670 customer who takes food separation seriously will be back for poultry, seafood, dairy and allergen sheets within the first few months.
