Q: What is this pole for?
A: It is the 7-inch metal pole used on the countertop and free-stand Sample Dome displays. It lifts the ice bowl and dome off the base so the display sits at browsing height on a counter, rather than flat on the surface.
Q: Is it the same pole as a floor stand uses?
A: No. Floor-stand units use a longer, height-adjusting pole that raises the display to roughly 38 inches from the floor. This is the short countertop pole at 7 inches. The two are not substitutes in either direction. If you are unsure which you need, work from the unit: a display that stands on the floor takes the floor-stand assembly, one that stands on a counter takes this.
Q: How does it fit?
A: It friction fits at both ends. The top pushes into the plastic coupling on the underside of the ice bowl, and the bottom fits into the plastic coupler on the base. Push gently until each joint is snug. There are no threads and no tools on the countertop assembly.
Q: Why would I need a replacement?
A: Usually because a pole has been lost in storage or transport rather than damaged. Sample Dome units are dismantled between uses, and a loose metal tube is the part most likely to end up in a different box from the rest of the display. Bent poles do happen, and a bent pole will not seat squarely, which puts a loaded dome out of level.
Q: Can I use it to make a floor stand shorter?
A: No. The floor-stand base and pole are a matched assembly with a threaded connection, and this pole friction fits instead. If you want a lower display, use the adjustment on the floor-stand pole itself, which is designed for exactly that.
Q: Does the height adjust?
A: No. This pole is a fixed 7 inches. Adjustable height is a floor-stand feature. On a countertop unit the working height is set by the counter it stands on, which is why a fixed pole is sufficient.
Q: What is it made of?
A: Metal, matching the base and pole components used across the range. Metal is used at this point in the assembly because it carries the whole loaded weight of the bowl, tray, product and dome above it.
Q: How is it cleaned?
A: Wipe it down when the unit is dismantled. It sits below the ice bowl and does not contact food, so it does not need the same sanitising routine as the tray and bowl. It does get handled during every assembly, so it should not be skipped either.
Q: Should I keep a spare?
A: One spare across a set of countertop displays is enough. Poles rarely fail. They go missing, which is a different problem and one that a single spare on the shelf solves for the whole fleet.
Q: Does it come with the coupler and base?
A: This part is the pole. The round plastic base for the 12-inch countertop unit is a separate item. Order both if you are rebuilding a countertop display from parts, and tell us what you are rebuilding so we can check the set is complete before it ships.
