PROFESSIONAL QUALITY YOU CAN FEEL
Friedr. Dick will support you in your culinary training right from the start.  Are you looking for a forged knife that will allow you to immerse yourself in the world of cutting techniques, cooking creations and flavour explosions? Are you about to start your culinary training? Do you want to work with professional tools from the outset and experience the highest quality and sharpness? Then the ActiveCut series is the right choice for you. This series will help you master all your cutting challenges.

DURABLE SHARPNESS
X30Cr13 is the secret of the high-quality stainless steel and delivers durable sharpness thanks to its individual qualities. The forged knives in the ActiveCut series are honed twice during the final sharpening process – this gives them their special sharpness.

PERFECT FOR THE PROFESSIONAL KITCHEN
The knife fits comfortably in your hand. The handle is made of a non-slip and abrasion-resistant material, preparing you for all challenges in the kitchen. Now, wet hands and hygiene are no longer a problem. The handle and the blade are joined without gaps and therefore absolutely hygienic. In addition, the ActiveCut knives are perfectly balanced, which means that this knife's centre of gravity is exactly in the middle of the knife, between the blade and the handle. This supports you in your daily tasks and saves your strength.

MADE IN GERMANY
The ActiveCut series is made in Germany. A good knife requires many work steps. Our ActiveCut knives go through numerous production steps at our Deizisau site before they are finished. Starting with the machining of the steel and right through to the finishing of the cutting edge.

KNIFE CARE
All F. DICK knives deserve special care and attention when it comes to maintenance. Proper knife care is crucial. Knives that are forged or have a wooden handle should never be cleaned in the dishwasher. Knives with plastic handles are completely dishwasher safe; however cleaning in a dishwasher is much more aggressive than washing by hand.

The use of highly concentrated detergents, leaving the knives in hot steam for a long time and also the presence of certain food residues can lead to pitting on the blades or even corrosion. We recommend clean the knife by hand with a soft cloth and a mild alkaline detergent. Wipe your knife after cleaning to ensure that tit is thoroughly dry – this will prevent any pitting on the blade. You can occasionally maintain knives with wooden handles with food-safe oils (e.g. olive oil). The oil makes the handle nice and smooth and prevents shrinkage and cracks.

PROFESSIONAL KNIFE STORAGE
For your safety and to protect the cutting edges of the blades, we recommend that you store the knives in a suitable knife block or on a magnetic rail. When buying a knife block, make sure you buy one with enough space and horizontal slots to protect the knife blades. We recommend our own blade guard for storage in a drawer - Edge Guard. or alternatively, dimensionally accurate compartments built into the drawer.

BLADE GUARD FOR KNIVES
Blade guard – Edge Guard, the special blade guard for storage, especially in drawers. Click here to see the blade guard for blades up to 26 cm.

KNIFE BLOCK FOR KNIVES
Knife block: Knife block with tourne knife, paring knife, boning knife, carving knife, bread knife, chef's knife, meat fork, sharpening steel and kitchen shears.

HOW DO KNIVES STAY SHARP FOR A LONG TIME?
Knives stay sharp for a long time if they are only used for their intended purpose. The knives should only be used for cutting and not chopping. Bones or the like should therefore only be cut with a cleaver.

WOODEN OR PLASTIC CUTTING BASES
Hard surfaces such as stone (e.g. marble) or glass should not be used as a base, as they quickly blunt the knives.

People Also Ask:

Q: What is the F. Dick ActiveCut Textile Roll Bag Set 6 PCS best used for?

A: The F. Dick ActiveCut Textile Roll Bag Set 6 PCS is best suited for culinary students, apprentice chefs, and professional kitchens looking for a complete, transportable knife kit built around everyday prep efficiency and professional-grade cutting performance. The set combines core kitchen knives and tools from the F. Dick ActiveCut series into a practical textile roll bag format that supports both training environments and real kitchen production. The ActiveCut series was developed specifically to bridge the gap between entry-level culinary kits and fully professional forged knives, making it highly relevant for culinary schools, apprenticeships, and high-turnover prep environments. Beyond the knife selection itself, what matters most is how this performs in day-to-day culinary workflows. The textile roll bag keeps tools organized, protected, and easy to transport between classes, kitchens, catering jobs, and prep stations. In practical terms, this means faster setup, safer storage, and more consistent knife care over time.

Q: Who should use the F. Dick ActiveCut Textile Roll Bag Set 6 PCS?

A: This knife set is designed for culinary students, apprentice cooks, foodservice trainees, catering teams, and professionals who need a dependable foundational knife system for daily kitchen preparation. The ActiveCut series was specifically developed by Friedr. Dick for training and educational environments, where users require forged construction, balanced handling, and easy sharpening without moving into ultra-premium pricing territory. For culinary schools and instructors, the set provides consistency across student stations while supporting proper knife-handling techniques. For working chefs and catering professionals, the compact roll bag format offers portability and organization during mobile service, pop-ups, or off-site production.

Q: What makes the F. Dick ActiveCut series different from standard entry-level knife kits?

A: The F. Dick ActiveCut series delivers forged German knife performance and professional balance at a price point tailored for culinary training and daily commercial use. Many entry-level culinary kits rely on stamped blades with basic balance and limited long-term edge retention. ActiveCut differs because the knives are engineered around professional kitchen ergonomics, X50CrMoV15 steel construction, and maintenance-friendly edge geometry. That combination is important in culinary education and high-volume prep environments where knives are sharpened frequently, used intensively, and handled by users developing professional techniques. The result is a more stable cutting experience and better long-term usability than many generic culinary school kits.

Q: Is the F. Dick ActiveCut Textile Roll Bag Set 6 PCS suitable for culinary students?

A: Yes. The set is specifically aligned with the needs of culinary students and apprenticeship programs. F. Dick designed the ActiveCut line to provide professional handling characteristics while remaining practical for training environments. That includes balanced forged construction, comfortable grip ergonomics, and easy resharpening, all critical for students learning knife skills, precision cuts, and kitchen efficiency. From a workflow perspective, the textile roll bag also supports transportation between home, school, and commercial kitchens while helping students maintain proper knife organization and protection.

Q: Can the F. Dick ActiveCut Textile Roll Bag Set 6 PCS handle professional kitchen prep?

A: Yes. The set is built to support daily commercial prep tasks across professional kitchen environments. The ActiveCut series uses professional-grade steel and ergonomic construction intended for repetitive cutting tasks in real foodservice operations. While positioned as a training-focused line, the knives are fully capable of handling vegetables, proteins, herbs, fruit, and general prep work in busy commercial kitchens. For many operators, the advantage is versatility. The kit supports culinary students entering professional kitchens, but it also works well for catering crews, prep cooks, commissary kitchens, and mobile foodservice teams that require dependable tools without overinvesting in specialty knife collections.

Q: Is the F. Dick ActiveCut Textile Roll Bag Set 6 PCS good for mobile catering or off-site events?

A: Yes. The textile roll bag format makes the set especially practical for mobile culinary operations and off-site foodservice. Transportability is one of the strongest advantages of this configuration. The roll bag keeps knives protected and organized during travel while reducing clutter in mobile prep environments. That matters for catering teams, event chefs, culinary instructors, and hospitality operations working across multiple locations. Combined with the durability of the ActiveCut knife series, the kit supports reliable performance in temporary kitchens, banquet prep areas, outdoor culinary events, and mobile production setups.

Q: How durable are the knives in the F. Dick ActiveCut Textile Roll Bag Set 6 PCS?

A: The knives are built for repeated professional use with durable German steel construction and maintenance-friendly edge retention. F. Dick’s ActiveCut knives are manufactured using X50CrMoV15 steel with a hardness profile engineered to balance sharpness, durability, and practical resharpening. In practical kitchen environments, this means the knives are capable of handling continuous prep work while remaining relatively easy to maintain compared with harder, more brittle specialty steels. That balance is especially valuable in culinary schools and high-use prep stations where knives experience frequent sharpening cycles.

Q: What type of cutting performance should users expect from the F. Dick ActiveCut series?

A: Users should expect clean, controlled, professional-style cutting performance suitable for everyday commercial kitchen preparation. The forged construction and balanced geometry help support smoother slicing, safer handling, and better user control during repetitive prep tasks. Compared with many basic training knives, ActiveCut delivers a more refined feel that helps users build proper cutting technique and kitchen confidence. Beyond the technical features, what matters most is how this performs during long prep sessions. The ergonomic design helps reduce hand fatigue while supporting consistency across repetitive chopping, slicing, trimming, and portioning tasks.

Q: Are ActiveCut knives easy to sharpen and maintain?

A: Yes. Easy maintenance is one of the defining strengths of the ActiveCut series. F. Dick specifically positions the line around practical professional maintenance, which includes straightforward resharpening and dependable edge recovery after regular commercial use. For culinary schools and commercial kitchens, this is particularly important because knives are sharpened frequently and used by multiple operators. The steel composition and blade geometry support efficient honing and sharpening without requiring highly specialized equipment.

Q: Is the F. Dick ActiveCut Textile Roll Bag Set 6 PCS easy to transport?

A: Yes. The textile roll bag is specifically designed for organized and portable knife transport. The roll bag format allows users to securely store knives and kitchen tools while minimizing movement during transport. This is especially useful for culinary students commuting between classes, catering professionals working events, and chefs operating in multi-location environments. In practical terms, this means improved knife protection, better organization, and faster setup during service or prep transitions.

Q: What is included in the F. Dick ActiveCut Textile Roll Bag Set 6 PCS?

A: The set includes six professional culinary components organized inside a durable textile knife roll bag. While exact knife configurations can vary slightly depending on regional assortment updates, the kit is structured around essential kitchen preparation tools selected for culinary education and professional prep workflows. These commonly include foundational prep knives and supporting tools designed for daily foodservice applications. That curated approach is important because it gives developing chefs and working professionals a cohesive starter system instead of requiring separate knife purchases.

Q: Does the textile roll bag help protect the knives during storage?

A: Yes. The textile roll bag helps reduce unnecessary blade contact, movement, and handling damage during storage and transportation. Knife organization plays a major role in edge longevity and workplace safety. A structured roll bag helps separate tools properly while keeping them accessible and easier to inventory during service preparation or culinary instruction. For culinary schools and catering operations, that added organization also supports safer transport protocols and more professional workstation setup.

Q: Why do culinary schools and training programs often choose F. Dick ActiveCut kits?

A: Many culinary programs choose ActiveCut because the series balances professional quality, durability, maintainability, and student-friendly usability. F. Dick developed the ActiveCut line specifically for trainee chefs and educational environments. That positioning aligns well with the operational realities of culinary instruction, where knives must perform consistently across repeated use while remaining cost-effective to maintain. From an educational perspective, the knives also provide a more professional cutting feel than many generic starter kits, helping students build transferable kitchen skills earlier in their training.

Q: Is the F. Dick ActiveCut Textile Roll Bag Set 6 PCS a good long-term investment for aspiring chefs?

A: Yes. The set provides a strong long-term foundation for culinary students and developing professionals. Rather than functioning as a short-term training kit, the ActiveCut system is designed to transition from culinary education into real commercial kitchen use. The forged construction, ergonomic handling, and sharpening compatibility support ongoing daily performance well beyond initial training. For many emerging chefs, that means the set can remain useful throughout apprenticeships, line cook roles, catering work, and broader foodservice career development.

Q: How does the F. Dick ActiveCut series compare with generic culinary school knife kits?

A: The ActiveCut series generally offers stronger ergonomics, more professional balance, and better long-term maintainability than many generic culinary training kits. Many low-cost school kits prioritize affordability over real kitchen performance. ActiveCut instead focuses on delivering a professional-feeling knife experience that supports skill development, edge stability, and daily usability in commercial environments. That difference becomes especially noticeable during repetitive prep work, sharpening cycles, and long-term kitchen use where comfort, balance, and durability directly affect workflow efficiency.

Q: How does the F. Dick ActiveCut series compare with premium F. Dick collections like 1905 or 1778?

A: ActiveCut focuses on practical professional functionality and training value, while premium F. Dick series like 1905 and 1778 emphasize elevated materials, heritage styling, and refined finishing. The ActiveCut line is intentionally engineered for high-usage educational and professional prep environments where durability, sharpening ease, and value are priorities. Premium collections like 1905 and 1778 are positioned more toward experienced chefs seeking elevated craftsmanship, distinctive aesthetics, and collector-grade presentation. For culinary students and many commercial operators, ActiveCut delivers the core cutting performance they need without the higher investment associated with luxury chef knife collections.

The balanced construction and ergonomic handling help students practice proper cutting techniques with more control and confidence. Unlike many basic student kits, ActiveCut provides a more professional feel that better reflects real commercial kitchen workflows. Combined with the portable roll bag, the system helps students stay organized during classes, practical exams, and kitchen placements.

Q: Is the F. Dick ActiveCut Textile Roll Bag Set 6 PCS reliable in high-demand kitchen environments?

A: Yes. The set is designed to withstand the repetitive prep demands of professional foodservice operations. The forged knife construction, durable steel composition, and maintenance-friendly edge profile help support consistent performance during extended prep sessions and busy service periods. That reliability is especially valuable for prep stations, catering production, and high-turnover culinary environments. From a business perspective, the impact shows up in workflow consistency, reduced downtime, and dependable day-to-day usability.

Q: Why is the F. Dick ActiveCut Textile Roll Bag Set 6 PCS useful for catering professionals?

A: The combination of professional cutting tools and portable organization makes the set highly effective for catering and mobile foodservice teams. The textile roll bag helps protect and organize tools while simplifying transport logistics. Combined with dependable cutting performance, the set supports smoother prep workflows during banquets, off-site events, corporate catering, and temporary kitchen operations.
