People Also Ask:

Q: What is the ScanBox Under Counter CC05 designed for?

A: The ScanBox Under Counter CC05 keeps and transports cold food in a cabinet low enough to roll under a worktop. It holds 5 GN 1/1 containers, about 30 to 50 portions, so chilled items can wait at the point of service instead of in a walk-in.

Q: Who is the ScanBox CC05 best suited for?

A: It suits caterers, hotel banquet teams, institutional kitchens, salad and dessert stations, and grocery and deli counters that need cold holding close to service. Culinary schools use compact cold cabinets the same way, under a teaching bench.

Q: How cold does the ScanBox CC05 get?

A: Its compressor cooling brings the cabinet down to 3°C in about 30 minutes, with the temperature set digitally. Canadian food safety guidance calls for cold food to be held at 4°C or lower, so the CC05 holds below that line.

Q: Will the ScanBox CC05 fit under my counter?

A: The CC05 measures 540 mm wide, 870 mm deep and 812 mm high. It is 60 mm deeper than the hot HF05 because of the back-mounted compressor, so measure both the clear height and the depth under your counter, and leave space behind it for air to circulate.

Q: Why does the compressor position matter?

A: The compressor is mounted at the back of the cabinet, which keeps the interior the same size as the hot model but adds depth. A back-mounted compressor needs air around it to cool efficiently, so avoid pushing the unit tight against a wall.

Q: How much food does the ScanBox CC05 hold?

A: It holds 5 GN 1/1 containers on removable U-guide rails at 80 mm spacing, with a maximum of 45 kg of food and up to 9 kg per level. The interior measures 331 mm wide, 448 mm high and 564 mm deep, for 84 litres.

Q: Can the ScanBox CC05 run on a standard Canadian outlet?

A: The listed specification is 100 to 125 V at 1.13 A and 135 W, a very light load on a standard 15 A circuit. Confirm the electrical configuration of your unit with our team when you order.

Q: Should I pre-chill the CC05 before loading?

A: Yes. Run the empty cabinet down to temperature first, and load food that is already cold. The CC05 is built to hold cold food at a safe temperature, not to chill hot food quickly, which is the job of a blast chiller.

Q: Is the ScanBox CC05 easy to move?

A: Yes. It weighs 56 kg empty and rolls on 125 mm lockable wheels with a One-Grip Handle. Lock the wheels while loading and during service, and release them only when you are ready to move.

Q: Can the ScanBox CC05 be used for off-site catering?

A: Yes, the insulated cabinet transports cold food as well as holding it. Secure it in the vehicle, plug it in again on arrival to keep cooling, and keep the door closed as much as possible during service.

Q: What is the difference between the CC05 and the HF05?

A: The CC05 is the cold model and the HF05 (ELSUF05) is the hot model of the same Ergo Line Under Counter. They share the 540 mm width and 812 mm height, so a pair fits side by side under a counter, with the CC05 needing 60 mm more depth.

Q: Can I hold dairy, salads and desserts in the CC05?

A: Yes. Salads, cold plates, dairy, cut fruit and plated desserts all suit a cabinet that holds at 3°C. Cover open pans to prevent drying and keep raw and ready-to-eat items on separate levels.

Q: Can the ScanBox CC05 work front of house?

A: Yes. Its low height and black RAL 9005 finish suit buffets, salad bars and dessert stations where back-up pans need to stay cold within reach of the server.

Q: Is the ScanBox CC05 easy to clean?

A: The U-guide rails are removable, so the interior can be wiped down without fixed runners in the way. Unplug the cabinet before cleaning and follow the ScanBox care guidance for the compressor and controls.

Q: What comes standard on the ScanBox CC05?

A: It comes with ScanBox Digital Control, a One-Grip Handle, a solid door, 125 mm lockable wheels, removable U-guide rails with 80 mm spacing and a black RAL 9005 finish. Extra options are available, and our specialists can confirm which apply.

Q: When should I choose a full height cold cabinet instead?

A: Step up to a full height model such as the Ergo Line CC12 (ELSCC12), which holds 12 GN 1/1 containers, when one service needs more than about 50 cold portions in one place. The CC05 earns its place where space at the point of service is tight.

Q: Does ScanBox ExP construction matter for a cold cabinet?

A: Yes. Insulation decides how hard the compressor works and how well the cabinet holds temperature when the door opens. ScanBox ExP construction combines insulation performance with operational reliability, which supports steady cold holding through a busy service.

Q: Is the CC05 a good fit for grocery and deli operations?

A: Yes. A deli or prepared foods counter can keep back-up trays of salads and cold cuts right under the service counter, so displays are refilled quickly without leaving the floor.

Q: Can I pair the CC05 with a hot ScanBox for complete meals?

A: Yes, many operations pair a CC05 with a hot HF05 so the hot and cold components of the same menu travel and wait side by side. For a single cabinet with both zones, look at the ScanBox Ergo Line Combo models.

Q: Why buy the ScanBox CC05 from Food Supplies?

A: Food Supplies is the exclusive Canadian distributor of ScanBox, with warehouses in Etobicoke, Ontario and Langley, British Columbia. We have supplied professional kitchens since 1993, and our team can help you plan hot and cold holding for your service.
