People Also Ask:

Q: What is the ScanBox Banquet Line Under Counter designed for?

A: The Banquet Line Under Counter holds and transports hot food in the larger GN 2/1 format, in a cabinet low enough to roll under a worktop. It takes 5 containers, about 30 to 50 portions, for banquet and catering service where full-size pans are the norm.

Q: Who is the ScanBox Banquet Line Under Counter best suited for?

A: It suits banquet halls, hotel event kitchens, caterers and institutional kitchens that portion from GN 2/1 pans. It keeps those pans hot right at the service point instead of in a separate holding room.

Q: What is the difference between GN 2/1 and GN 1/1?

A: A GN 2/1 container measures 650 mm by 530 mm, twice the area of a GN 1/1 at 530 mm by 325 mm. Banquet kitchens use GN 2/1 to portion larger batches from a single pan, with fewer pan changes during service.

Q: Will the Banquet Line Under Counter fit under my counter?

A: The cabinet measures 740 mm wide, 910 mm deep and 812 mm high. It needs at least 812 mm of clear height and 910 mm of depth, so measure carefully, including any apron rail, and leave room for the door to open.

Q: How much food does the Banquet Line Under Counter hold?

A: It holds 5 GN 2/1 levels, about 30 to 50 portions, with a maximum of 45 kg of food. Each level is rated for up to 18 kg, and the interior measures 557 mm wide, 448 mm high and 723 mm deep, for 178 litres.

Q: How quickly does it reach serving temperature?

A: Fan heating brings the cabinet to operating temperatures of up to 90°C in about 30 minutes. Preheat the empty cabinet before loading so hot food goes into a warm space.

Q: What temperature should hot food be held at?

A: Canadian food safety guidance calls for hot food to be held at 60°C or higher. The Banquet Line Under Counter adjusts up to 90°C through the ScanBox Digital Control, and your local public health unit sets the rules for your operation.

Q: What power does the Banquet Line Under Counter need?

A: The listed specification is 100 to 125 V at 6.92 A and 830 W. It runs on a standard 15 A circuit, but because it draws more than the Ergo Line models, avoid sharing that circuit with other heating equipment, and confirm the electrical configuration of your unit with our team when you order.

Q: How do I keep fried and moist foods at their best?

A: Use the adjustable ventilation. Open it for fried or breaded items that need to stay crisp, and close it for braised dishes, rice and vegetables that should stay moist.

Q: Is the Banquet Line Under Counter easy to move when loaded?

A: Yes. It weighs 55 kg empty and up to about 100 kg with a full 45 kg load, and it rolls on 125 mm lockable castors with a One-Grip Handle. Lock the castors while loading and during service.

Q: Can it be used for off-site events?

A: Yes, the insulated cabinet transports hot food as well as holding it. Secure it in the vehicle so it cannot roll, plug it in again on arrival, and load the first course served last.

Q: Should I choose the Banquet Line or the Ergo Line Under Counter?

A: Choose by pan size. The Banquet Line takes GN 2/1 pans in a 740 mm by 910 mm footprint, while the Ergo Line Under Counter HF05 (ELSUF05) takes GN 1/1 pans in a smaller 540 mm by 810 mm footprint.

Q: When should I choose a full height Banquet Line cabinet?

A: Step up to a full height Banquet Line cabinet when one event needs more than about 50 portions from a single unit. The under counter model earns its place where service space is tight and volume is moderate.

Q: Can the Banquet Line Under Counter work front of house?

A: Yes. Its low height and black RAL 9005 finish let it sit under a buffet or carving station, keeping full-size pans hot within reach of the team serving guests.

Q: Is the Banquet Line Under Counter easy to clean?

A: The U-guide rails are removable, so the interior can be cleaned without working around fixed runners. Unplug the cabinet before cleaning and follow the ScanBox care guidance for the electrical and control components.

Q: What comes standard on the Banquet Line Under Counter?

A: It comes with ScanBox Digital Control, a One-Grip Handle, a solid door, 125 mm lockable castors, removable U-guide rails with 80 mm spacing and a black RAL 9005 finish. Extra options are available, and our specialists can confirm which apply.

Q: What does ScanBox ExP construction mean for banquet service?

A: ExP construction combines insulation performance with operational reliability, which helps the cabinet hold temperature between door openings during service. Better insulation also means the heating works less to keep food at temperature.

Q: Can I use the cabinet for plated meals instead of pans?

A: The cabinet is built around GN containers on U-guide rails. For plated banquet service, ask our specialists which ScanBox accessories and rail configurations suit plates in your operation.

Q: Is it suitable for institutional and healthcare kitchens?

A: Yes. Institutional kitchens that portion from GN 2/1 pans can stage hot food close to the service line or serving room, with the temperature set and shown on the digital control.

Q: Why buy the ScanBox Banquet Line Under Counter from Food Supplies?

A: Food Supplies is the exclusive Canadian distributor of ScanBox, with warehouses in Etobicoke, Ontario and Langley, British Columbia. We have supplied professional kitchens since 1993, and our team can help you size the right ScanBox line for your events.
